Finally!

So for the past 10 months, Noah has not wanted to be in the nursery at church. We'd take him in there and it was like he was going to his death. He'd scream and made such a fuss that we'd end up just holding him the entire time or one of us would stay home with him. It got to where if we'd try to bring him in there, at least one of the workers would roll their eyes and sigh. Yep, my child causes agony.

The big problem is that he's supposed to nap during church. If he doesn't nap, he ends up super cranky for the entire day and part of the Monday. Not really worth it. So Joel or I would just stay him while the other took Hannah to church. This was the only solution. But it was starting to weigh on us that we never get to go to church and we felt really out of the loop.

So a few weeks ago we tried to put Noah down in one of the cribs when time for his nap. It worked! He actually fell asleep for the entire service. The last week we tried it again. He stayed awake for a while talking and cooing but eventually the worker took him out and put him in the swing. He fell right to sleep. Today he cried for a little while then a worker ended up just holding him until he fell asleep. I'm sure she hated that :)

So FINALLY Joel and I can actually attend a service together. It's amazing how much better our marriage is after being in the Bible and listening to our pastor preach. Hopefully the more we bring him in there, the more he'll get used to it and crying. He's usually such a happy baby. For a while I was convinced the workers were pinching him or something. I'm pleased to find out that's not the case.

  1. ugh I know! I feel like I haven't been to church in AGES b/c Addy sleeps during both service times....and only when h*ll freezes over will she sleep in the nursery! It's nice to know we aren't the only ones!
